A Day In The Life…

Reporting to our Head of Engineering you’ll join a small but growing agile team of highly talented engineers working on building scalable solutions for our ecommerce platform. You’ll be pivotal in driving exceptional quality products and user journeys by resourcing the various projects coming in. We’re looking for someone who has had varying experiences in the frontend technology space, has knowledge on improving application performance and scalability and a great people leader.

Your day to day will look a little bit like this…

  • Collaborating with the development and product teams and designing technical solutions that satisfy functional and non-functional needs;
  • Ensuring the platform is performant, secure, scalable, robust, reliable and high quality, well tested code in the critical areas;
  • Planning and evolving the technical architecture of the platform with the teams;
  • Championing and sharing best practices to improve the team and code over time;

Requirements

What You Need…

  • Significant experience working as an engineer on frontend technology (React and TypeScript);
  • At least 2-3 years leading front-end strategy and managing people
  • Excellent understanding and experience of programming languages and paradigms (object oriented, functional);
  • Integration experience via RESTful and GraphQL API’s (Shopify, BuilderIO etc…) for workflow and data;
  • Experience building highly scalable front end applications;
  • Excellent appreciation for UI/UX design;
  • Enthusiastic self-starter that will be able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proven ability to quickly build and maintain authentic relationships and trust with individuals;

Desirable:

  • Experience writing tests (unit, integration, e2e);
  • Experience in Next.js and/or Gatsby.js;
  • Experience working with a CMS such as builder;
  • Experience working with the eCommerce domain and mobile application architecture;
  • Experience with CRM systems and marketing automation, payment processing and customer engagement;
  • Experience with serverless functions;
